While I was sailing with Giovanni Soldini on Maserati in July 2015 I got to know a brand new product of Solbian, the Energy-Flyer! I was fascinated by this invention from the very first moment.
It works fantastic and solves the problems with highly energy consuming phones, cameras, tablets etc… As a person who travels a lot I am no more depending on the energy grid, this gives me soo much freedom, no need to buy batteries or charge devices in hotels, restaurants etc…
Recently I am on a bicycle trip starting from Sibiria to Ulaan Baatar (UB) in Mongolia and further via the Stan countries to Iran, Turkey and then back to Europe. On my way I collect donations for the the children school and daycare center Bayasgalant in Ulaan Baatar. I arrived a few days ago here in UB and visited the school. I gave them 2 Solbian Energy-Flyers, for the days with power cuts they are very useful. My bike is sponsered by the best bikeshop in Switzerland (www.bikelocal.ch) and will be auctioned in favor of the project at the end of my journey.
On the road with my bike I use a GPS for navigation, a local phonenumber for communication, a headlight torch, front and rear bycicle lights and of course a foto camera. All of this devices are powered by the Energy-Flyer. The panel is light and fits easy into the Ortlieb backroller bag on my bike. On the road I attach the panel to the backside luggage and charge all my devices within half a day of sunlight. There is no additional friction on the bike compared to other systems that use a dynamo. Further I can also charge when I’m not riding my bike. Sometimes I let local people charge their phones and in return they give me a shelter for the night or some food. The mono-cristalline panel is very light but strong. From plus 45 to minus 10 degrees it always worked. It fell down from the bike many times but is undestroyable.
For decades travelling by bicycle ment to avoid any kind of energy consuming gadgets. Now with the Solbian Energy-Flyer I can communicate every day, read books with my e-reader, watch movies and I even think about buying a little USB driven coffee machine!

"Hello, I did back to Okinawa Japan Monday, I used Flyer in the boat every day. This is my impressions,
1. You must have waterproof electrical line 1~2m. Because I think that it is so good to be used in the outside but it is scary rain and snow and seawater intrusion. USB jack and phone are inside panel, outside is better.
2. When I charge inside cabin it was OK under the Acrylic glass.
3. Want hole in the four corners. Because fixed or wearing a sucker.
4. I think that it is easy to carry compact. When if folded in half.
Overall, this panel is great! Tourist, campers, disaster, it will be the necessities of life for runaway boys and girls."
