Giancarlo Pedote has given an excellent performance during the Mini Transat, his reaching the second place on the podium has not been a simple task considering the many difficulties he has encountered.
The Florentine navigator, aboard the Prysmian ITA 747, has demonstrated its capability from the beginning remaining in the lead for a total of 14 days and winning the first part of an initial step that, due to bad weather, has unfortunately been cancelled by the organization. Pedote has, however, gained the course record in 24 hours: 273.89 miles on November 14th. The skipper of Prysmian has certainly shown great tenacity in very critical moments such as the rupture of the bowsprit, an event that forced him to a massive repair in only 3 hours and which also cost him the first place. As a sponsor of Giancarlo Pedote, Solbian has provided the navigator with its solar panels.
