Solbian (Company that produces flexible solar panels for boating born from Giovanni Soldini and the researcher at the CNR Marco Bianucci) presented at Seatec the Solar Flex Top line designed by his partner AsseaBoat to make it easier installation of solar panels on the bimini.
Two models are available: Design (with an automatic mechanism) and Sail (designed for sailboats). To point out, in the Sail version "the rear - tells the company - enclosed between the main arch of the stern and intermediate bow is fixed: a minimum area of shading to protect the skipper of about 1 meter. Above this range, well protected between the boom and the stays, is located the Sun Bar Asseaboat, the bow with one or two solar modules with semi-rigid aluminum base".
" One of the main news of Solbian panels are the photovoltaic flexible panels SP series that use the high efficiency Sunpower technology (which is the exclusive worldwide) with yield of greater than 22.5%. "These materials make the panels flexible, walkable with a weight of about 1/8 compared to the traditional glass panels. The technology with which they are made makes them particularly resistant to the marine environment and therefore suitable for application in the marine industry" tells Luca Francese of Solbian. In Carrara, the company also has the Sun Rail Bar One designed to provide an easy system to install and a cheaper price range: 1.5 kg in just 3 mm thick. The panel is ready to be assembled without tools (the panels can be fixed with clips or zipper). The product is scalar, then it can be installed alone or in multiples up to realize plants above 200Wp.
