Gaetano Mura ready for the Jacques Vabre

2013/11/05

The Jacques Vabre is a transatlantic race that every two years follows the historic coffee trading route between France and Brazil.

The two-handed race covers 5,400 miles in the Atlantic Ocean and this year will end in Itajai, Brazil, a crossing characterized by very diverse weather conditions that put a strain on participants and test their skills and experience. Due to the difficult weather conditions, the race has already been delayed twice and for the time being the organization has decided to wait until a more favourable situation arrives. Among the 43 participating boats, there is also the Bet 1128 of the Italian sailor Gaetano Mura who, after two months of preparation in the Lorient training center for ocean navigators, faces the challenge paired with Sam Manuard. Gaetano Mura, has been recently added as a new Solbian sponsorship, Bet 1128 mounts in fact two SP125 panels on its roof.
