The Institute of Professional Training IES Cotes Baixes based in Alcoy, Spain, will participate in the Madrid EcoCity 2013, with the Dimoni 2,3-FV.
The vehicle, strictly powered by solar energy, has the following characteristics: 2,95 m length, 0,63m wide and 0,77 m high with a total weight of 37 kg. It has an hybrid duralumin and carbon fiber monocoque chassis entirely realized within the IES Institute. The novelty introduced for the 2013 edition of EcoCity, is that, thanks to Solbian Energie Alternative Srl, it has been possible to equip the vehicle with two SP100L flexible panels, lighter and more efficient than those previously mounted. They allow the Dimoni 2,3-FV to proceed without batteries, therefor it will be possible to circulate continuously thanks to sunlight. Madrid EcoCity 2013, which will take place in Madrid September 19 to 23, will have a role in raising awareness, training and entertainment. The event, in conjunction with the European Mobility Week, will allow several cities to showcase their projects in this field. EcoCity will become an interactive exhibition where sustainable mobility applied to urban transport will be the protagonist.
